The Legend of the Big Rock
Kenneth Bachand

The author learned the tragedies of war on the home front when two of his friends married young men who went off to war but did not return. Now, remembering the heartbroken widows and the children who would never know their fathers, he has rewoven the warp and weft of life's fortunes into a tapestry more pleasant to look upon. On their high-school graduation day, Ellen meets Linda's cousin, Paul, a decorated World War II Navy fighter pilot. In less than a month they are married. And then the misfortune of war that nearly destroys Ellen's happiness brings Linda face-to-face with Philip, a promising young medical student who sweeps her off her feet and right into his heart.

Two girls as talented as they are beautiful, a war that threatens to doom them both to a lifetime of sorrow, and two young men with uncommon skills for survival are blended together in a down-to-earth, lighthearted
story that will tug at your heart, make you laugh, and perhaps make you believe the legend of the big rock.

...And Now Goodbye
Carole L. Kelly

"...And Now Goodbye" is a bittersweet love story of a man and his captive. Julia Bertinelli thought she had everything, a wonderful loving husband and a life that was filled with happiness. But that was before her memory returned and she realized that the man she was married to was not her husband, Julia was not her name and that this was not her life . . . It was all a lie!

She had struggled through the abduction. She had suffered through the amnesia. Now she must face her awakening. How does a woman cope with the reality that she has loved and cherished her enemy . . . the man who tore her from her family and stole her life . . . the man who would never let her go unless fate intervened. This is a story of love and a crime of passion, of hate and despair, of faith and forgiveness.

Set in Argentina, ". . . And Now Goodbye" takes you back to Italy and the war, to Paris and the scene of the abduction and to the United States as the mystery unfolds as to why she was taken and kept for twenty years. The story lays the gripping groundwork for the second book in the trilogy, as Julia faces her past, the life she might have had, and those she left behind.

Set in Argentina, author Carole Kelly weaves a tale of love and hate, secrets and lies that grabs the reader on page one and refuses to let go until the final page when readers beg to know more. Her intense writing style will take you on an emotional roller coaster. Characters come to life. Vivid imagery of the surrounding landscape is enchanting. This is a storyteller with great talent. On Second Thought
Hodelin Rene
I know now who I am

A man away from home
Far from the maddening crowd
From which I sprang and left . . .

Such is the power of On Second Thought, Hodelin Rene's first collection of poetry. This volume is a collection of poems written by Hodelin Rene over a period of 25 years. These poems were selected from many that Hodelin has written during his adulthood. The poems are about a wide range of his life's experience and some of life's recurrent themes such as love, faith, friendship, hope, self examination. The poem "On Second Thought" is also the title of this book. This poem reflects a time in the author's life when he was experiencing a transition; from lamenting over leaving the town he grew up in; to the realization that happiness can be enjoyed when we dwell on the good we can accomplish right where we are in the present.

Now's the Day and Now's the Hour
Carl Peterson

A unique collection of history and music that connects the spirit and the background of the Alamo defenders to Scotland. From the beginning of Scotland's freedom wars, with Wallace and Bruce, we see the trend carried forward to the Texas and the Alamo. With piper John MacGregor and the fiddler of the Alamo the men's spirits were maintained with the music of Scotland that contained a history of a fighting spirit. These songs were then used as the tunes for ballads and stories written about the Alamo and the Texas Revolution. This Texas freedom fight has its roots in Scotland's freedom wars.

Conscious Coma
David Rabhan

Available Now

In March 1980, David Rabhan, a private industrialist was swept up in the revolution of the era in Iran. Arrested and sent to a public prison, David waited three years for his first court appearance and to be charged with espionage. At the mercy of his captors, he spent years in chains--blindfolded and being shuffled from one prison to another. In the midst of being tortured, imprisoned, beaten and going through three "mock executions", he survived. He survived by writing, drawing and sketching scenes from his surroundings. He also became the "tea man" for the prison, by making tea daily for other prisoners. He never gave up. He devised schemes and plans and he challenged his captors daily whether it was about his showers, his food or his photograph of President Jimmy Carter. David had been President Carter's private pilot during Carter's gubernatorial days and as David remained in prison for ten years, Carter was back home writing letters and meeting with foreign diplomats trying to get his friend released. These years with a few other American prisoners that came and went spread into days, weeks and years of unbelievable horror. Now, years after his harrowing imprisonment, he has written a story of his survival and what he found and lost while being held captive.

"David Rabhan is one of the most interesting people I know. His examples of prison art give an insight into his extraordinary character . . ." Former President Jimmy Carter.

Anthrax: The Game
by Dwan G. Hightower

A silent, solitary traveler sat down in a window seat on the plane and brushed back his thick black hair, leaning over and pushing the silvery metal briefcase under the seat. Even if the briefcase was checked at the next airport, security would find the vial empty. Pulling his jacket open he checked his coat pocket again. Where was the diskette? Damn! Looking in both pockets he wiped his brow and replaced his handkerchief. Using the illegal entry lock kit, it had been so simple to break into the office and remove the inhaler from Dr. Bishop’s top desk drawer and replace it with the contaminated one. He had spent a few moments admiring the family in the picture on the desk. He checked his bag and his jacket pockets again. Where was it? His throat tightened momentarily. Where was the diskette? Maybe he had dropped it back at the library or at the hotel. Oh, well, no matter. If a maid found it she would just toss it. He relaxed, and a strange secretive half-smile passed over his smug visage.

I was immediately caught up in this books' intriguing plot, and the suspense continued until the exciting ending....This book is a must read.. I look forward to reading Ms. Hightower's next novel. Harold Edward Poole, author of
